The Jurassic World Alive mobile game is the first to use the Google Maps API.
The new game called Jurassic World Alive is the first to use the Google Maps API. Google Maps API is a platform that makes it possible for developers to easily build location-based games utilizing Google Maps location data. This mobile game is a similar experience to Pokémon Go’s augmented reality designs and area-based gameplay.
Once the dinosaurs are created, players can then view them at varying scales in augmented reality.
The Google Play Store describes the game, “Explore your surrounding area to find your favorite dinosaurs — including new breeds that are more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before. Activate augmented reality (AR) to interact with these unbelievable creatures in the real world.”
Created by Ludia Games, this is just the most recent in a line of new AR games that include The Walking Dead, Harry Potter’s Harry Potter: Wizards Unite (from the makers of Pokémon Go) and Ghostbusters’ Ghostbusters World.
**Coming to movie theaters on June 22nd is the sequel to Jurassic World (2015), called Jurrasic World: Fallen Kingdom.
